Ganadara Vol.5

Hongik University, Typography Study Group

Book, Postcard, Exhibition, 2015

During my involvement in the ‘5th Ganadara’ project, a book centered around Korean typography published by the typography study group ‘Hangulggol Study Group’ at Hongik University’s Visual Communication Design program, I played a key role as the team leader. My responsibilities encompassed conceptualization, design, publishing, and even exhibition display.

Our team focused on exploring the allure and distinctiveness of flyers, selecting them as the primary subject of our study. We meticulously examined each typographic element of the flyers, delving into various formats such as party invitations, academic event notices, grocery store promotions, Chinese restaurant menus, and election campaign materials. The objective of this project was to capture the captivating essence of these flyers, which could be perceived as gaudy yet irresistibly attention-grabbing.
