8th F-H-YU Jeon
Hongik University
Poster, Banner, Post card, Leaflet, Exhibition, 2017
As the art director for the 2017 Unified Regular Exhibition, ‘F-H-YU Jeon,’ at Hongik University, I was responsible for the exhibition’s graphic identities. The theme of the 8th F-H-YU Jeon in 2017 was “0 and infinity(∞),” inspired by the idea that when two zeros meet, they create a symbol resembling infinity(∞). This concept represented the endless possibilities of a design that is both “blank” and “infinite.”
I translated these themes into eye-catching graphics featuring paradoxical concepts. One design resembled a convex ball, while the other appeared as a hollow hole. The lines connecting these two shapes created an illusion of piercing through the ball and enveloping the hole. These graphics redefined the relationship between the circles, representing paradoxes and contradictions. I used this captivating graphic as the centerpiece for all the exhibition’s promotional materials.
